Fuel Theft Alarm TankGuard

June 29th, 2011 Comments off

With many years of experience of fuel theft issues regarding commercial vehicles, aide automotive is pleased to add a new product to prevent and stop fuel theft!

Tank Guard is designed to work in conjunction with your existing security devices such as locking fuel cap or anti-syphon device.

For simplicity of use, the Tank Guard will automatically arm after the ignition has been switched off for sixty seconds. Thereafter the ACTIVE DETERRENT will flash the strobe for seven seconds every minute in order to warn off potential thieves. This proven technique in crime reduction can have the effect of reducing the likely-hood of attack in the vehicle by at least eight fold!

Tank Guard also has sophisticated sensor fitted externally in a discreet location on the outside of the fuel tank. If thieves attempt to remove the locked cap, or jemmy out the sender unit or in any way attack the tank then the Tank Guard alarm will be activated. This will result in a 114 decibel siren or voice alarm giving a deafening warning along with a high intensity flashing strobe to drive the thieves away.

Tank Guard is a relatively easy aftermarket installation with the option of adding a second sensor for dual tank trucks.

Matthew Burke aide automotive’s sales director stated ” With marketing and selling anti syphon devices for 10 years to great effect in preventing fuel theft, truck operators have always requested further security around the tank, with this we believe the adding of a Tank Guard to a truck as well as an anti syphon device will 95 % prevent fuel theft and save hauliers hundreds if not thousands pounds. We have reviewed over many years alarm devices but until now could not find the cost affordable technology to make a product suitable for the market, with the cost of a Tank Guard at less than a third of a tank of fuel we believe this now is a product that truck operators can cost effectively purchase to protect against fuel theft.”

Tank Guard can be installed by a competent internal staff or an outsourced auto electrician.

Fuel theft device that prevents diesel spillage

January 6th, 2011 Comments off

There’s a new fuel theft device on the market that has the added bonus of preventing diesel spillage.

With ever increasing fuel prices, fuel theft becomes more common as fuel becomes a valuable commodity. There are many fuel theft devices on the market to give organisations the opportunity to prevent diesel theft from their fleet of vehicles. The new TP Spill Valve not only deters against the siphoning of fuel but also prevents diesel spillage.

TP Spill Valve is a retro fit valve for the TP Anti Syph product range to stop diesel spillages. Easy to fit and ideal as an environmental proactive measurement, this simple step will make roads safer for all users. With Corporate Responsibility being top of most organisations’ agendas, this retro fit Spill Valve device gives businesses the chance to comply. Diesel spillage is a dangerous problem to all road users. Diesel spills can be as slippery as black ice and a potential hazard in particular to motorcyclists; just a few litres can cause a potentially lethal accident. Causing such a spillage can result in a  £5,000 fine, along with six points on your licence is the penalty for UK Spillages. You may also be liable for the costs of cleaning up the spill and repairing the road surface with your insurance premiums being affected. The worst case scenario can be a charge of corporate manslaughter.

Fuel Theft For Norfolk Haulier

May 20th, 2010 Comments off

Fuel theft is an issue for many businesses as one business recently found out. Thieves siphoned 2,000 litres of fuel from a number of Freight Force Distribution trucks  parked on their own premises  on a weekend in April this year.

This is the first time we have been attacked in our own yard. So obviously we have the cost of the stolen fuel hitting us, and then there is the fact the lorries were parked up while we had to replace the diesel, meaning we lost work time.  Nick Jolley, Operations Director

Jolley says the company is now aiming to invest  in extra security to prevent similar incidents occuring. One way of preventing such a crime is to invest in a anti-fuel theft device such as TP Anti-Syph, the device that prevents thieves from siphoning fuel from a vehicle.

Fuel Theft’s Becoming Major Problem for Truck Drivers

February 8th, 2010 Comments off
Police are concerned about the safety of truck drivers following the increasing problem of fuel thefts from lorries parked in lay-bys. They have been warning truck drivers travelling through Neath, Port Talbot in an attempt to overcome the issue of fuel theft. Over 150 litres of fuel was siphoned from a lorry parked along the A465 as the driver slept.

Lorry driver Steven Orchard, 34, from Carmarthenshire, was parked on the same road at Resolven when his vehicle was targeted overnight, “Some lorries can hold 800 or 900 litres of diesel. It’s easy money,” he said. The Freight Transport Association (FTA) said truck drivers are popular targets for thieves and the Resolven incident was “not a rarity”. Don Armour, of the FTA, said: “Instances of fuel siphoning and general truck theft are all too common. Truck stop provision is pretty poor throughout the UK – there are basically none in mid Wales

The siphoning of fuel from trucks is a costly business in terms of stolen fuel, replacing that fuel and vehicle downtime. One way that companies can protect their vehicles against fuel theft is by a small investment in an anti fuel theft devices such as TP Anti-syph.

Fuel Theft increases with rocketing fuel prices

December 7th, 2009 Comments off

Motorists are being hit with the highest ever pre-Christmas fuel prices after diesel hit 5p a gallon for the first time in more than a year. Diesel has shot up nearly 12p a litre from its low price last January to reach an average 110p a litre.

Hauliers have also warned that more expensive fuel could push up shop prices, with retailers forced to pass on the higher costs to customers. The Freight Transport Association which represents 14,000 haulage companies said that these rising fuel costs would be impacting on businesses already suffering from the recession.

As prices rise and fuel becomes a valuable commodity the problem of fuel theft  becomes an increasing problem.

However for a small investment there  the perfect solution to such a problem. TP Anti Syph, this easy to fit device is  a preventative measure against thieves siphoning fuel from vehicles.

Anti Fuel Theft Device for Travis Perkins

November 18th, 2009 Comments off

Travis Perkins, one of the UK’s leading Builders’ Merchants, with more than 600 outlets across the country, was looking for an effective solution to the growing problem of fuel theft.

As the company runs one of the largest vehicle fleets in the country, preventing fuel theft and keeping costs to a minimum was a top priority and it investigated an anti fuel theft device.

Requiring no drilling or gluing, it is simple to fit in several minutes and it can also cope with fast-filling of fuel tanks at speeds of up to120 ltrs/min without spilling or splash backs.

Travis Perkins Group Transport Manager Graham Bellman said: “Fuel theft is a problem, and it impacts directly upon our bottom line.

“You cannot stop the most determined of fuel thieves, but this anti fuel theft device provides a valuable defense, and a positive deterrent against fuel skimming.

“Coupled with our other security measures, and very careful fuel use monitoring, a good anti-siphon device offers very definite protection against a problem that is getting more, rather than less, pronounced.

”It is a very simple, but extremely worthwhile product that, for a very modest outlay, can save a lot of money.”

aide automotive offer anti fuel theft devices for all commercial vehicles.
